Malegra-100, one of the generics of Viagra, is prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It contains 100 mg of Sildenafil Citrate- an amount sufficient enough to treat the problem of erectile dysfunction. Despite being a prescription medicine, it can be bought easily on the internet without any written prescription by a physician. The drug starts to show effects after 30-45 minutes of intake and these effects last for about 3-4 hours. Malegra-100 is available in the forms of oral tablets only. HOW IT WORKS:

Sildenafil Citrate, Malegra’s active ingredient, is a potent inhibitor of phosphodiesterase Type 5 (PDE5) in the corpus cavernosum. By this inhibition, it helps to protect cyclic guanosine monophosphate(cGMP) from being metabolized. As nitric oxide (NO) levels in the corpus cavernosum increase, it binds to cGMP receptors resulting in an increased flow of cGMP. This whole process leads to the relaxation of the smooth muscles of the intimal cushions of the helicine arteries. As the arteries relax, they allow more blood to flow in the spongy tissues of the penis hence causing a rigid erection.

Malegra-100 is an effective therapy for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men. The sildenafil present can enhance the blood flow to the penis thereby increasing the rigidness and firmness of an erection. The effects of Malegra-100 lasts for about 4-6 hours which ensures a long-term remedy for erectile dysfunction. Malegra can treat erectile dysfunction completely, while doses taken according to mood does not have a long lasting effect.

Malegra-100 tablets are best suited if taken by a sexually aroused man 25-30 minutes prior to an expected sexual intercourse. It is advised to consume one tablet per day and not to exceed this limit. SIDE EFFECTS:

Many other drugs can cause interaction with Malegra including the popular antibiotic, Erythromycin and the H2 antagonist Cimetidine, taken for the treatment of peptic ulcers. It is recommended that one does not take Malegra-100 and an alpha-blocker at the same time as this drug combination can lead to lowering of blood pressure to very serious levels. Although no cases have been seen relating this fact, but care is necessary. Malegra is also notorious for its interaction with the nitrates as both drugs when taken simultaneously can cause hypotension.
