Sunrise’s Malegra DXT is a combination of two chemicals- Sildenafil and Duloxetine. Sildenafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction while duloxetine helps in the treatment of premature ejaculation, both of which help improve the sexual life of a person. Although Malegra DXT is a prescription medicine, it can be bought from the online pharmacies without the need for any prescription. The drug can cause some serious side effects when taken with certain drugs, so it is necessary to consult a doctor before taking the medication. Malegra DXT is available in the forms of oral capsules only.
HOW IT WORKS:
Nitric Oxide released from corpus cavernosum controls the penile erection in the males during the sexual excitement. Then, nitric oxide provides the activation of an enzyme named as guanylate cyclase. The amount of enzyme cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate) increases. This process helps smooth muscle of corpus cavernosum inside the penis to relax by allowing larger amounts of blood in the penile artery.The main effect of Nitric Oxide is caused by Sildenafil by stopping the action of PDE5 (Phosphodiesterase type 5) and cGMP is degraded inside the penis. Sildenafil never works on human cavernosum without any external sexual stimulation. It starts to work on the moment when sexual excitement stimulates the release of nitric oxide. Sildenafil is a drug administered orally for erectile dysfunction which causes inhibition of a specific phosphodiesterase type 5, cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate). It is absorbed very fast within 1 hour after consuming medicine. The absorption within the body is done by hepatic metabolism (mainly by cytochrome 3A4 &P450 3A4) which makes a conversion to the active metabolite.
Duloxetine is a thiophene derivative. It works as selective neurotransmitter reuptake inhibitor for serotonin that decreases the stress on the brain during sexual activities. Hence, brain cells slow down the nerve sensation inside the glans penis which enhances the duration of sexual intercourse preventing premature ejaculation.
DOSAGE:
Unlike other medication, MALEGRA-DXT plays two roles to cure sexual dysfunction in men as it contains 2 components: 100 mg of Sildenafil and 30 mg of Duloxetine.
First – Sildenafil is absorbed inside the liver within 30 minutes, after that it starts working. It leads to an increased blood flow in the blood vessels of corpus cavernosum inside the penis. Patients start getting an erection after 1 hour of medication intake that lasts for 4 to 5 hours.
Second- Duloxetine works in the nerve center decreasing the stress of person during sexual intercourse. By this manner, it helps patient to prevent premature ejaculation.
There are 2 doses of the medication MALEGRA-DXT i.e. 75mg and 130mg. Physicians prefer 130mg for patients as it works better than a smaller dose. It’s advised to use 1 tablet before 1 hour of planned sexual intercourse. Doctors warn patient to use it only once a day.
SIDE EFFECTS:
MALEGRA-DXT, being a harmless, useful drug, has very little or no side effect on the human body. The adverse effects are caused as the blood vessels dilate inside the human body. The general side effects are vomiting, insomnia, erythema, flushing, loose motion, epistaxis, muscle ache, dyspepsia, nausea, and dizziness.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
If interacts with alpha blockers, MALEGRA-DXT may cause lowering of blood pressure. The penile erection becomes longer if this medication interacts with erythromycin or cimetidine.
